Zinedine Zidane to remain at Real Madrid

Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane has quashed any rumours of an impending move to Bordeaux, and will continue his management education under Carlo Ancelotti for next season.
Zidane confirmed to La Sexta after the Corazon Classic Match between Real Madrid and Inter Milan legends that he will be remaining with Los Blancos for another season and will not be considering any other opportunities for the immediate future.

Despite enjoying a successful spell with Bordeaux as a player from 1992-1996, it doesn’t appear to be the ideal step for the former World Cup winner and for a player of his stature.
Bordeaux is widely regarded as the wine capitol of the world and one might be forgiven for thinking that the speculation on Zidane moving to the city was created by a select few that had been drinking too much of the bottled grape.
The question bodes, why would Zidane choose to further his career in the city fondly known as: “La peele d’Aquitaine,” with a club that has no chance of mounting a title challenge considering the resources of Monaco and PSG?
As understudy to Carlo Ancelotti and at a club where he is held in such high esteem, Real Madrid seems by far the better option for him to spread his wings in management.
Ancelotti is without question one of the best managers in the world and has won three European Cups to go with league titles in Italy, England and Spain, the perfect learning platform for Zidane.
Zidane told reporters: ”I’m here and I’m staying at Real Madrid for the time being. We’ll see what happens”.
Los Blancos fans will be bouyed by the news that they are going to keep hold of their favourite son who they will surely want to see take over at the helm of the Madrid giants one day.
Under Ancelotti, the pair have delivered instant success to Real in their first season at the club after defeating rivals Atletico in the final of the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, however they faltered in the final weeks of their La Liga campaign, finishing third behind Atletico and Barcelona.
Zidane is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation and a move into the management seems the natural choice, although he did stress that playing is a far more enjoyable than management.
“I like being in the dugout and coaching, but it’s not a patch on playing. Being a coach is tough work, it’s easier being out there on the pitch”.
Zidane’s experience that he can share with the big name stars at Real Madrid is invaluable. As a player he won League titles in Italy and Spain and a Champions League title with his beloved Real.
On the international stage he has achieved something that today’s greats, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have yet to do, and that is win a World Cup.
Zidane lifted the title in 1998, scoring two goals in the final and then went on to lift the European Cup two years later where he was awarded player of the tournament.
He also has the distinction of being the world’s most expensive player at €75 million following his move to Los Blancos from Juventus in 2001, some more experience he can share with Gareth Bale and Ronaldo.
