Wales made history last night when they booked their place in the semi-finals of Euro 2016 thanks to a 3-1 win against a much-fancied Belgium side in Lille.
The Red Devils got off to a quick start when Radja Nainggolan fired home a rocket early on in the first half to give his side the lead. At that point it was looking pretty ominous for Chris Coleman’s side but captain Ashley Williams led the fightback with a towering header to level things up, before Hal Robson-Kanu did something magical.
The striker, who is currently without a club, left three Belgian defenders for dead with an outrageous Cryuff turn in the box before calmly firing home – triggering wild celebrations amongst the travelling Welsh fans.
And it was that moment that sent BBC’s expert panel for the Euros into wild celebration. Rio Ferdinand, Alan Shearer and Dean Saunders were being filmed during the match and they could scarcely believe what they were seeing as Robson-Kanu pulled off one of the great moments of this tournament.
After the goal, Saunders – a former Welsh international – exclaimed: “What a goal! He’s like Pele!” before Rio shouts: He’s sent the whole back four out of the stadium!”
