A Nigerian man named Godwin Onwuneme Udu has been arrested in Ghana for hacking into someones bank account and transferring a certain amount of money into his own account.
He was arrested in Haatso, Ghana on July 19 for hacking and stealing GH¢25,000. Godwin transferred the cash into his personal account at a different bank. He ran out of luck when he went to his bank to withdraw the money using his check book. He didnt know the bank noticed the fraud the mounted surveillance in his bank.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Eugene Nyavor, ‘the suspect hacked into the bank’s email account and transferred the money from a customer’s account into a different account. The bank noticed the fraud and mounted surveillance, which led to his arrest at the Haatso branch of the bank where he had gone to withdraw some money using a check book. He has provisionally been charged for stealing and is being prepared for court.’
