Nigerian Army Clear IEDs Along Borno Road

The Nigerian Army has stated that it had cleared Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) buried along the road that linked new Marte-Dogongida-Kerenowa in Borno.

This is contained in a statement issued by Col. Tukur Gusau, the Media Coordinator of Operation Lafiya Dole, in Maiduguri yesterday

“The 5 Brigade of the Nigerian Army after clearing Boko Haram terrorist camps in Kerenowa in Borno, has also embarked on clearance of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) buried along the road that links New Marte-Dogongida-Kerenowa in the state.

“The troops have also been working tirelessly to destroy all IEDs making facilities found in the area,’’ Gusau said.

He said that the troops had also arrested five suspected terrorists in another operation in Gudunbali in Baga Local Government Area.

The statement stated that troops of 115 Task Force Battalion under 7 Brigade Multinational Joint Task Force have arrested five fleeing suspected Boko Haram terrorists and a family of a terrorist after they were abandoned due to military offensive.

“The family includes a woman and four children; they are currently being catered for and investigated in a military facility,’’ he said.
