England striker Jamie Vardy has rejected Arsenal to remain at his club, Leicester City, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.
Arsenal tabled a bid for Vardy before he left for the European Championship in France with the rest of England.
After Arsenel’s bid, Vardy had reportedly asked for time to think about his future, but according to Wenger, the striker wants to remain at Leicester City.
Arsenal manager confirmed this during an interview with a Chinese TV station.
Before Wenger’s confirmation, Vardy refused to comment on his future while on Euro 2016 duty with England.
Asked if he had anything to offer with regards to the Arsenal links, Vardy told Saturday’s news conference at England’s Chantilly training base: “Nothing at all.
“I’m just here completely focusing on England and that’s all I want to do at the moment.”
