How Tom Cruise was Targeted in Church of Scientology Bomb Threat
According to TMZ reports, syracuse native Tom Cruise has been targeted in a bomb threat against the Church of Scientology.
The Los Angeles Police Department told the celebrity gossip site that a man called the church in April and identified himself as a Muslim who liked suicide bombings. “Are there any bombings I can do?” he allegedly asked.
Police documents obtained by TMZ say the caller also sang “Allahu Akbar, Tom Cruise,” then hung up. “Allahu Akbar,” an Islamic phrase that translates to “God is the greatest,” has been used by some terrorists during attacks.
According to the Daily Mail, authorities are still searching for the caller and served AT&T with a warrant to try and trace the call. Cruise, a well-known Scientologist, has reportedly been pulled into the investigation.
The 54-year-old actor is currently in London, filming Universal’s “The Mummy” reboot with Annabelle Wallis and Sofia Boutella. His upcoming movies also include “Top Gun 2,” “Mission: Impossible 6” and “Jack Reacher 2: Never Go Back.”
