HOD of Uniilorin caught sexually harassing a student
Sexual harassment in higher institutions around the country is no news. recently Senate passed a bill for second reading the will ensure that lecturers found guilty will be punished with a five year jail term and vice chancellors and rectors of higher institutions that fails to act on complains within a week will be giving two year jail term. This is done to stop the ugly act in our institution. It looks like Dr. Mohamed Sani Idiagbon of didn’t get the memo or apparently in his mind he said,’ abeg na naija we dey. Na lie dem dey lie.’
An audio clip of Dr. Mohamed Sani Idiagbon has surfaced of him sexually harassing a student named Faith. Faith is a 200level student of English department where Dr. Mohamed is the HOD. According to reports Faith went to the HOD’s office concerning a test she had missed and Dr. Mohamed started harassing her.
She says “I don’t like it” after he touches her and tells her to bring something out for him to suck. Then he tells her “you are fake” and sends her to lock the door after she says she doesn’t feel comfortable (she also says she’s on her period).
In the video he says, “you are not the only one”, and she replies “I know I’m not special”. Then after she doesn’t agree to doing things, he tells her to leave the office and not to call him again.
Kunle Akogun the university’s director of corporate affairs confirmed that Dr Mohamed had resigned after been suspended and removed as the Head Of the Department of English. He also said that the Dr refused to honour an invitation of the staff disciplinary committee.
He continued that, “The university frowns against sexual harassment or any other harassment at that. The university is making necessary investigation and once we are done, the culprit will be brought to book,”
