A majority of Ghanaians are living in fear after a leaked document suggesting an impending terror attack on the country, made its way to the media last week.

According to TVC News Ghana Correspondent, Eunice Agyare-Okyere’s report , the document that has gone viral in Ghana, a Malian national suspected of masterminding the terror attack in Ivory Coast has reportedly disclosed that Ghana and Togo are likely targets.


According to the document, the suspect had said the choice of Ghana was to dispel the notion that French-speaking countries are the only targets.

The president of Ghana, John Mahama expressed dissatisfaction with the apparent lack of secrecy among the security agencies following the leak of the security memo that was meant for Regional Security Councils.

Terrorism started in Africa in the 90s and seems has gained roots over the years. Several lives and property have been lost to attacks carried out by Islamist militants. Irbard Ibrahim is an International Relations and Security Expert and he is not enthused about the continent’s handling of terrorism so far.

Meanwhile security officers while urging calm have asked residents of Ghana to look out for and report suspicious activities of strangers and other persons. The government maintains the country’s security forces are alert and will avert any attack.

The should be media campaigns to address such fear while security agencies are put on the alert.


Oh.. So sorry for them.. They ought to be scared cos, dey didn’t know what we have been passing through in hands of Boko haram.. Be strong Ghana!
