A Nigerian Woman Franca Asemota who was arrested in Benin City by EFCC with collaboration from the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) have been handed a 22 years jail term. The 38 years old woman was involved in human trafficking in the UK. She was known for luring orphans from villages in Nigeria with promise of Jobs and Education. She also uses witchcraft threats, Ju Ju rituals and sexual violence to ensure they did as they were told before being sold to the sex industry in Europe.
According to UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA), she was convicted on Wednesday at Isleworth Crown Court on 12 counts of conspiracy to traffic persons for sexual exploitation, trafficking persons outside of the United Kingdom for sexual exploitation and assisting unlawful immigration. She was handed the 22-year jail term on Thursday.
Franca Asemota was arrested in March 2015 in Benin City and have been in the custody of the UK Police.
