Facts you don’t know about Big Brother Naija


Big Brother Naija happens to be one of the most followed Reality TV show in Nigeria which is as a result of the controversies popular with the show. Although, some Nigerians since the commencement of the show have called on the Government to put a stop to it because of the sexual context it carries, however nothing has been done so far.

Below is a list of things you don’t know about BBN,

  • The show is produced by a Dutch entertainment firm known as Endemol
  • The first season of the show was first aired on DStv Channel 37 from March 5 to June 4, 2006 and so far there are only four series.
  • Ebuka, who happens to be the current host of the show was once a housemate in the BBN House.
  • Ebuka didn’t win or come close to winning the reality show in 2006 but he happens to be the most successful of them all and the most popular as well.
  • The winners of the four seasons so far are; Katung Aduwak, Efe Ejeba, Miracle Igbokwe, the fourth season is currently on.
  • Housemates spent 92 days in the house in 2006, 77 days in 2017, 85 days in 2018 and 99 days in 2019.
  • The prize given to the winner in 2006 was 21 million naira but it has increase to the worth of 60 million naira.
  • 2017 Series of BBN was known as See Gobe, 2018 Series was known as Double Wahala, and the current series is known as Pepper Dem.
