4 Killed, 27 Injured In Egypt Hospital Fire – Minister
Egyptian government said at least four people were killed and 27 injured after a huge fire erupted Monday at a private hospital in Alexandria province.
Deputy Health Minister, Magdy Hegazy, who confirmed the incident, said in Cairo that the injured were mainly suffering from burns and smoke inhalation,
He said 10 fire trucks were used to extinguish the blaze that broke out inside the radiology department at Al-Shorouk Hospital, located in the Glim neighourhood of Alexandria province.
“Some 20 ambulances rushed the victims to nearby medical facilities.
Brigadier Omar Gaballah, the Local Head of Civil Protection Force, said that the cause of the fire was still unknown.
Alexandria is the second main province in Egypt after the capital Cairo. (dpa/NAN)
